Rocketboom

I have recently subscribed to Rocketboom and I am really enjoying it. I can't imagine how they provide adequate bandwidth for all the content they put out, but it certainly is convenient to have a version for both my computer and phone. So for now, I'm on my way to Amarillo... sha la la la la la la...

iPodderX 3.0 Is Here!

That's right, the release I've been hinting at for the past few weeks is finally here. iPodderX version 3.0 has arrived. I will have a detailed analysis and review of the program on the podcast.

Delays

Looks like it's going to be at least tomorrow, and possibly Thursday before I get another podcast out. I know it's been a while, but I can promise some great content since I've been building up a lot of news to talk about.

Next Version of iTunes to Support Podcatching

Looks like Steve Jobs just made the announcement, which is reasonable considering the fact that Adam Curry and Ron Bloom just had a meeting with him yesterday.

The EverythingDigital Conference?

Adam Curry seems to have been confused in his reference to the All Things Digital conference, telling listeners to the DSC that he is here in San Diego to attend the EverythingDigital conference. Odd, but I'm honored to have a mention on the DSC, freudian slip or not.

Star Wars Episode III

I just got home from seeing Star Wars Episode III, and I must say it was very well done (excepting some rather flat dialogue segments). The completion of the first and second trilogies certainly makes you wonder whether there will be a third. After seeing this movie, I am confident that many people will be clamoring for more. Photos are available on my Flickr page, although I did not get a chance to take a whole lot of them.

Quotes of the Day 5.18.05

"First we thought the PC was a calculator. Then we found out how to turn numbers into letters with ASCII — and we thought it was a typewriter. Then we discovered graphics, and we thought it was a television. With the World Wide Web, we've realized it's a brochure" ~ Douglas Adams

"Like car accidents, most hardware problems are due to driver error." ~ Anonymous

"As far as we know, our computer has never had an undetected error." ~ Weisert

"Never trust a computer you can't throw out a window." ~ Steve Wozniak

"Computers make it easier to do a lot of things, but most of the things they make it easier to do don't need to be done." ~ Andy Rooney

Vendetta Online User Tracker

For all you Vendetta Online players out there, this is an applescript that, when opened, asks for the name of a user. Once entered, the app will open the vendetta active users site in Safari (which you can collapse to the dock if you wish) and refreshes it to see when the selected user comes online. It will then notify you via a dialog box that the user is now online.

Blog Editor Reccomendations?

I am currently looking for a reliable and powerful blog editor for Mac OS X, because, believe it or not, I am still using the clunky Movable Type web interface. I wondered if anybody out there has a recommendation for a desktop editor. Compatibility with Movable Type as well as OS X is a must. It would be nice to be able to edit my comments and trackback pings if possible, but that may be a bit too much to ask. Let me know of any programs you use or have heard about in the comments for this post, or via email. Thanks!

EverythingDigital Podcast 2005-05-16

Recording straight from QuickTime 7 Pro, with news concerning iTunes 4.8, the Xbox 360, Internet Explorer's shrinking market share, Apple's lawsuit with Tiger Direct, the recent New York Times article on podcasting, and my views on the new Podshow on Sirius. The EverythingDigital Podcast Dashboard Widget of the Week is Scoreboard, a handy widget for displaying live MLB scores.

The Rock and Roll Geek Show Studio Cam Widget

As my second Dashboard widget, I decided to take on a slightly more challenging project than my first widget, and set out to create an automatically refreshing webcam viewer for the Rock and Roll Geek Show Studio Cam as a favor to one of my favorite podcasters, Michael Butler. For this widget, I decided to create as much as I could from scratch, and you will notice that the background and other graphics are not part of the Apple examples library.

EverythingDigital Podcast 2005-05-08

It's a Tiger-filled show, with my views on the new features in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, and a tour or the more notable ones. I also squeeze in a bit of the usual non-RIAA music to go along with all the Tiger excitement.

The EverythingDigital Dashboard Widget

That's right! I'm premiering my very first Dashboard widget, bringing Tiger users everywhere just one click away from the EverythingDigital site, with easy access right on their Dashboard. With a simple click, the EverythingDigital Dashboard widget will effortlessly transport you straight to the everythingdigital.org website, using none other than your own default web browser. Handy, eh?

The Cat Just Came Out of the Bag and Jumped Into My Computer

That's right, I am posting this in Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. The podcast I was going to do tonight will be delayed until tomorrow in favor of some Tiger experimentation. Hopefully I will have some of my own widgets to post in the next few days, which should serve to fill up my F12'd screen even more than it currently is. I've widgeted myself into a wall of information and there's no coming out... well, unless I hit F12 again.

Sick

I may be able to get a podcast out tomorrow, but I've got a cold right now, so it may be a little hard for me to get through a show, not to mention hard for you to listen to my congested voice through a whole show.
